If its not comic books, rock n' roll, or TV, it's those damn video games.
For those not in the know, Jack Thompson is an attorney and supposed media activist who is blaming video games for all of society's ills. He's also quite the ass, as he's harassed Mike Krahulik of Penny-Arcade and Scott Roomisair of VG Cats, resorting to very unlawyer-like ad hominem attacks. He also proposed a violent video game involving a vengeful parent killing video game makers, and would donate $10,000 dollars in charity if someone made it. Well, someone did, and he retracted his offer, claiming it was a joke and that video gamers couldn't see into his keen wit, much like he wouldn't be able to see into the keen wit of this deviation. His stupid little crusade pisses me off not just as a gamer, but as a student working toward a major in Simulation and Digital Entertainment. Funny thing is, video games can be helpful to society, ie, the ones used to train surgeons in delicate procedures in order to save lives. So suck on that, Jack.
